DonaldBusarow Donald Busarow, a graduate of Concordia University, Chicago (1956), continued his studies in organ and composition at the University of Michigan, The Cleveland Institute of Music (MMus), and Michigan State University (PhD). An honorary Doctor of Letters degree was conferred by his alma mater, Concordia University, for his contribution o the music of the Church. He also holds the Associate degree from the American Guild of Organists.
Since 1975 Dr. Busarow has been on the music faculty of Wittenberg University, Springfield, OH, where, in addition to teaching, he is the director of the Wittenberg University Choir (since 1982), and the University organist and director of chapel music. Prior to his present position Dr. Busarow served on the faculty of Concordia College, Milwaukee, WI, and as church musician and teacher in Lutheran congregations in Detroit and Cleveland.
His compositional output is that based primarily on hymn treatments, with over 20 hymn concertati, scores of organ preludes, numerous works for organ and instruments and choral music for church and concert choirs to his credit.
He resides in Springfield with his wife Peggy Johnson. They have six children and fourteen grandchildren.
