DavidChristiansen David Christiansen, a native Iowan, received his Bachelor of Music Education (band) and Bachelor of Music (organ performance) from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. He earned his MM, MMA, and DMA degrees at the Yale School of Music in New Haven, CT. He also studied for a year with Marie-Claire Alain in Paris, France, and is presently working in the Director of Parish Music Colloquy Program of the LC-MS. He has served as church musicians at various parishes in Iowa, Connecticut, Texas, Illinois, and in France.
Presently David serves as Director of Music at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Park Ridge, Illinois, and as Adjunct Associate Professor of Music and College Organist at Elmhurst College, Elmhurst, Illinois. He has also taught organ and church music at Concordia University, Chicago. In addition to recitals in the US, he has made five recital tours in Europe, for which he has commissioned new works by American and German composers. He lives in Park Ridge, Illinois with his wife Mary, son Timothy, and daughter Abigail.
