Lutheran Service Book and Builder continue to bless the worship life of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.  The partnership between the Commission on Worship and Concordia Publishing House has been an unprecedented success, enjoying the unrelenting skill sets of pastors, editors, musicians, and business personnel.  God has indeed blessed the LSB project, and prayerfully these resources will continue to shape the liturgy and song of the Church for generations.

To date, around 60% of our churches have purchased LSB resources.  Hopefully, a large part of our remaining sister churches are considering future purchases.  Beginning May 12, 2008, the introductory prices will end.  As long as print runs were exceedingly large, we were able to keep modest prices on all editions.  In fact, the introductory price of Lutheran Service Book: Pew Edition was extended more than seven months because the demand and response was so great. 

A price increase will go into effect on May 12, 2008 to reflect the burden of smaller print runs.  The pew edition will increase to $23.00.  There will be a modest price increase on many of the companion editions as well.  Every church is encouraged to complement their initial purchase with necessary LSB resources.  Churches that have not yet purchased are encouraged to prayerfully consider this purchase before May 12, 2008.  In order to view the complete pricing structure visit lsb.cph.org.

The evolving nature of Lutheran Service Builder has required additional staffing and development.  Concordia Publishing House is dedicated to this ongoing resource and committed to expanding the Builder format and its integration with other systems.  To that end, we will be introducing Lutheran Service Builder 2.0 by November 1, 2008 that will have many enhancements, particularly in regard to projection capability.  Existing customers will receive 2.0 as part of their annual subscription/ service agreement.  The increased purchase affects only new customers.
