Andrew Bruhn is director of choral music at Rockford Christian School in Rockford, Illinois. In addition to directing choirs, he teaches piano and AP music theory. He has previously served as director of the Luther Seminary Choir and Luther Brass in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he also served congregations. He has sung and recorded with Magnum Chorum and is an accomplished trumpeter.

As a trumpeter, Bruhn has performed with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, the training orchestra for the Chicago Symphony; the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra; and Interlochen’s World Youth Symphony Orchestra. He was the 2004 winner of the International Trumpet Guild’s Young Artist Award, and his solo trumpet playing has been broadcast onThe Lutheran Hour and on WFMT 98.7 FM, a classical fine arts station in Chicago.

Bruhn holds a master of sacred music degree in choral conducting from Luther Seminary and St. Olaf College. He studied trumpet at Wheaton College, Aspen Music Festival, and the Interlochen Arts Camp, and conducted with Anton Armstrong, Christopher Aspaas, and Mark Stover. He studied composition with David Cherwien and James E. Bobb, with additional coaching from Christopher Aspaas and John Ferguson.
