Brian Henkelmann holds a bachelor of arts in music from Moravian College, a master of arts in theological studies from Moravian Theological Seminary, and a master of church music from Concordia University Chicago. Currently on the music faculty at Arkansas State University, Henkelmann teaches keyboard-related courses and serves as collaborative pianist/organist for choral ensembles. Arkansas State provides an excellent resource for Henkelmann with frequent performances of his original compositions. Students and faculty alike have enjoyed collaborating on various projects, especially his wife, Marika Kyriakos, professor of voice and chair of the department of music.

Henkelmann has served in Moravian, Lutheran, United Church of Christ, Presbyterian, and Roman Catholic churches as director of music/organist. Since 2008, he has been the organist at First United Methodist Church in Jonesboro, Arkansas, where his family, including his daughter, Nina, is very active in the musical life of the congregation.
