Daniel Nelson is a conductor, retired professor, and successful composer of choral music. He currently lives in Walnut Creek, California, where he continues to conduct and compose. His compositions have been published by half a dozen publishers.

Previously, Nelson served as director of choral studies at Montana State University, and later as professor of voice at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.

Nelson received a bachelor’s degree in sacred music from Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas, and a master of music degree in vocal pedagogy from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
