Don Petering is an accomplished composer, engraver, editor, and music director. A retired music editor for Concordia Publishing House, he currently works as a professional music engraver and composer.
Petering served as teacher and music director at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Des Peres, Missouri, accompanist and later director of Lutheran Hour Choir, and music editor and engraver at Concordia Publishing House.
He attended Concordia University Chicago, where he received a BS in education as well as an MM in church music.
Currently, Petering serves as director of the men’s choir and is a member of the adult and handbell choirs at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Des Peres, Missouri. He lives in Kirkwood, Missouri, with his wife, Carol, who is director of handbell choirs at St. Paul’s. They have two grown children and four grandchildren.
