Jonathan Kohrs is an accomplished composer of music for choir, handbells, organ, piano, and instruments.

Since 2001, Kohrs has been on the music faculty at Concordia University Chicago, where he teaches in the areas of church music and music history and conducts Schola Cantorum. Before joining the faculty at Concordia, he served as a parish musician and teacher in Wisconsin and Illinois.

Kohrs also currently serves as minister of music at Grace Lutheran Church in Northbrook, Illinois, where he is the organist, cantor, director of the adult choir, director of the handbell choir, and director of the instrumental ensembles. He is also an active member of the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians (ALCM) and has presented at church music workshops in addition to contributing to their newsletter, Grace Notes, and journal, CrossAccent.
