Walker graduated summa cum laude from Shepherd University in West Virginia with a BA in music composition, and is currently pursuing his MM in composition at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver under the instruction of Dr. Stephen Chatman. His compositions have been performed at events including the US National Saxophone Symposium and the Alba International Music Festival in Alba, Italy. In addition to composing both choral and instrumental music, Walker is also an active performer as both a bass-baritone and an oboist. He performs regularly with ensembles both in Vancouver and in the area of his home in rural West Virginia.
